Small Acts of Kindness: Spreading Love and Hope to the Homeless in Chicago

A few years back I decided to give a few gift bags away to the homeless I see on the train and bus every day. At first, I thought this was crazy, but I have a humbled and grateful approach to life. The first thing that comes to my mind every time I see someone asking or begging for help, where would I be if I had no one or a job? This is a harsh reality for thousands of people. One day I went to the dollar store and brought bananas and candy bars. I placed them inside a gift bag and passed them out to whoever I saw on the street. Of course, this random act of Charity caused me to question whether that right thing is to do. In the back of my mind, I prayed for protection and clarity. shortly after I passed out the bags, I began to wonder about starting my own nonprofit that performed small acts of kindness in the Chicago region. My feelings towards this act of kindness made me little special. I prayed that I didn’t violate anyone with the pictures and gift bags.
