A Call to Serve: My Vision for Equity, Safety, and Human Dignity”

If I were to establish my own charitable organization, its mission would be to serve individuals experiencing homelessness throughout Chicago. Our city has been shaped by decades of challenges — from underfunded schools to economic inequality and the impact of substance use — and these issues demand both compassion and structural change. My goal would be to build an organization that not only provides direct support, but also works to influence policy, advocate for equity, and help create a more just and humane society.

My mission would center on promoting peace, dignity, and opportunity for all people. I believe that every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves safety, stability, and a fair chance at a meaningful life. Violence has no color, and no community is untouched by hardship. As a nation, we must commit to ensuring that no crime is ignored, no injustice is overlooked, and no person is left behind. Every American deserves a wage that allows them to afford a decent home, and laws that protect their rights and humanity.

My organization would serve anyone in need — without judgment, without barriers, and without discrimination. We would meet people where they are, offering resources, advocacy, and hope.

Volunteers would play a vital role in this mission. They would help research the root causes of homelessness, develop thoughtful solutions, and turn those solutions into meaningful action. Through communication, outreach, and community engagement, volunteers would help expand our impact and amplify our message. Their time, skills, and dedication would be essential in building a movement that uplifts individuals, strengthens communities, and advances justice for all.

The Importance of Volunteer Work in Building Stronger Communities

I believe it’s important for all working human beings to volunteer in their communities especially if they want to see change or solve a problem. if a person does not volunteer, they will not know the root of the issue, how to serve and what Ideas to bring to the townhall meetings or local church gatherings. I believe the results of people not voting for state officials & president is similar to not volunteering. When less people vote then the wrong person holds a powerful position. When we don’t volunteer, we are unaware of the disadvantages some of our people face in America and in our communities. The biggest differences in our communities can only happen if the people involve had volunteered to educate themselves on particular issue.

Small Acts of Kindness: Spreading Love and Hope to the Homeless in Chicago

A few years back I decided to give a few gift bags away to the homeless I see on the train and bus every day. At first, I thought this was crazy, but I have a humbled and grateful approach to life. The first thing that comes to my mind every time I see someone asking or begging for help, where would I be if I had no one or a job? This is a harsh reality for thousands of people. One day I went to the dollar store and brought bananas and candy bars. I placed them inside a gift bag and passed them out to whoever I saw on the street. Of course, this random act of Charity caused me to question whether that right thing is to do. In the back of my mind, I prayed for protection and clarity. shortly after I passed out the bags, I began to wonder about starting my own nonprofit that performed small acts of kindness in the Chicago region. My feelings towards this act of kindness made me little special. I prayed that I didn’t violate anyone with the pictures and gift bags.
